Application & Design Engineer Intern

Supports engineering activities related to product design such as drawing creation, engineering specification, design reviews, engineering cost estimates, development timing determination, and support testing for value-added engine systems including, but not limited to, cooling packages, air intake systems, exhaust systems, controls systems, wire harnesses, mounting systems and all associated hardware. Assists design engineer in developing new designs and design improvements and application engineer in the testing of engine systems to evaluate vibrations, temperature, pressure and other performance parameters according to application guidelines. Service Trainer

Conducts training classes for dealers in Central America & Caribbean (in both Spanish & English), fleets, and internal employees. Includes coordination of training materials, components, tools, classroom logistics, etc. Training topics related to construction, function, diagnosis, and repair of different vehicle systems including: diesel engine and emissions, transmission (manual/automatic), basic and advanced electronics, hydraulic and air braking systems, chassis, suspension, steering, and driveline, air conditioning, usage of Isuzu service-related tools, non-technical training (Service Advisor, Service Manager, etc.). Assists Curriculum Developer to create, update and maintain service technical training materials for complete commercial vehicle sold by Isuzu dealer network. This includes, but is not limited to: hands-on training materials, student processes, and testing methods; translating material from English to Spanish; Computer-based training modules. Conducts, trains, and implements Isuzu Dealer Standards (IDS) focused on aftersales business. Provides technical assistance to dealers including troubleshooting and repair procedures in coordination with International Service Department-Isuzu Japan. Provides feedback and follow-up on market quality issues to International Service Department-Isuzu Japan. Maintains current level of expertise through participation in on-going "Train the Trainer" type instruction including travel to ISZJ-CV in Japan. Bachelor's degree in Automotive or Diesel Technology or equivalent directly related work experience. Minimum three years experience in product support for a company that sells and services automotive technical and/or diesel engine related products. Minimum three years experience as a repair technician or equivalent directly related work experience, preferably as an instructor, automotive engineer or skilled technician (ASE certification preferred). Strong knowledge of diesel/IC engine and powertrain systems. Knowledge of dealer service operations. Basic knowledge of structuring and delivering instructional or educational materials. Basic project management and budget administration knowledge. Understanding of service and parts operations including warranty systems and claims. Proficient PC skills in all Windows applications (database, graphics, presentation, spreadsheet and word processing). Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills. Fluent in both Spanish and English. Strong mechanical and technical skills. Effective negotiation and problem resolution skills. Ability to work on numerous projects/tasks concurrently. Must have Class E driver's license and additionally have or have the ability to obtain Class A, Class B, or Class C driver's license, and maintain acceptable driving record. Port Quality Engineer

Conducts audits at all U.S ports of entry to ensure that recommended policies for parts handling, vehicle storage, condition and maintenance, truck and rail loading, installation procedures and quality inspections for P.I.O. accessories meet all requirements as specified in the QA Policy and Procedure Manual. Conducts vehicle quality audits at all U.S. ports of entry and manufacturing facilities to provide quality assurance data for submission and corrective action to all related manufacturing facilities. Monitors and generates metrics from the cloud-based quality control data collected by all port QC tablets. Develops and maintains hard copy and tablet-based installation instructions and quality control checklists for all P.I.O. accessories. Conducts random sampling inspections and special investigations studies of quality deficiencies, warranty items, and failure incidents as they relate to all vehicle models and associated parts to support field quality issues. Prepares reports that recommend procedures and methods for correction of product deficiencies, accessory installations, and transportation damage. Provides assistance during testing and evaluation of vehicle quality and port installed accessories. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or Quality Assurance. Minimum three years experience in quality assurance or closely related field. Certified Quality Engineer and/or Six Sigma certification preferred. ASE or ASQC certifications preferred. Strong technical theory and applied knowledge or skills with both gasoline and diesel engines in commercial trucks. Knowledge of quality control techniques and practices, total quality management, advanced quality planning, and statistical process control. Familiarity with automotive diagnostic scan tools. Proficient PC skills in Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Project). Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Senior Engineer, CV Engineering

Designs components or parts for commercial vehicles. Evaluates technical content, improves quality, reduces cost, makes effective decisions and meets schedules while considering all available alternatives. Reports activities and decisions to Manager for approval and guidance. Maintains and coordinates assigned projects and schedules. Reports status to management in a timely manner. Strong knowledge of the design process for automotive components to include: Detailed engineering drawings and GD&T, Vehicle performance & packaging, FEA analysis (including basics of strength, fatigue and modal analysis), DFMEA, FTA, QC, & tolerance stack analysis, Threaded fasteners and bolt joints and Automotive parts knowledge for material selection (metal, plastic, textile), production processes, test methods, regulations, and component/sub-system design development process. Familiarity with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)/American Standard Test Method (ASTM). Basic operational skills with CAD/CAM design systems; Siemens NX & TcAE or similar. Familiarity with simulation software and common diagnostic equipment.
