Application & Design Engineer Intern

Supports engineering activities related to product design such as drawing creation, engineering specification, design reviews, engineering cost estimates, development timing determination, and support testing for value-added engine systems including, but not limited to, cooling packages, air intake systems, exhaust systems, controls systems, wire harnesses, mounting systems and all associated hardware. Service Trainer

Conducts training classes for dealers in Central America & Caribbean (in both Spanish & English), fleets, and internal employees. Includes coordination of training materials, components, tools, classroom logistics, etc. Training topics related to construction, function, diagnosis, and repair of different vehicle systems including: diesel engine and emissions, transmission (manual/automatic), basic and advanced electronics, hydraulic and air braking systems, chassis, suspension, steering, and driveline, air conditioning, usage of Isuzu service-related tools, non-technical training (Service Advisor, Service Manager, etc.). Assists Curriculum Developer to create, update and maintain service technical training materials for complete commercial vehicle sold by Isuzu dealer network. This includes, but is not limited to: hands-on training materials, student processes, and testing methods; translating material from English to Spanish; Computer-based training modules. Conducts, trains, and implements Isuzu Dealer Standards (IDS) focused on aftersales business. Provides technical assistance to dealers including troubleshooting and repair procedures in coordination with International Service Department-Isuzu Japan. Provides feedback and follow-up on market quality issues to International Service Department-Isuzu Japan. Bachelor's degree in Automotive or Diesel Technology or equivalent directly related work experience. Minimum three years experience in product support for a company that sells and services automotive technical and/or diesel engine related products. Minimum three years experience as a repair technician or equivalent directly related work experience, preferably as an instructor, automotive engineer or skilled technician (ASE certification preferred). Strong knowledge of diesel/IC engine and powertrain systems. Knowledge of dealer service operations. Basic knowledge of structuring and delivering instructional or educational materials. Basic project management and budget administration knowledge. Understanding of service and parts operations including warranty systems and claims. Proficient PC skills in all Windows applications (database, graphics, presentation, spreadsheet and word processing). Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills. Fluent in both Spanish and English. Strong mechanical and technical skills. Effective negotiation and problem resolution skills. Ability to work on numerous projects/tasks concurrently. Vehicle Quality Control Engineer

Responsible for vehicle buy off/incoming inspection from T-1 Assembly Company and initiating, participating, and driving Quality Corrective Action programs. Responsible for ensuring all products are compliant to Engineering, Packaging, and Quality specifications. Ensures supplier quality actions conform to Isuzu Quality requirements through supplier audits and visits. Quality support in all functions related to receiving, storage, delivering, and manufacturing processes. Total management of Vehicle quality for WIV/N-Gas and other US project. Responsible for N-Gas quality buy off and WIV incoming inspection management at end of the line of Spartan including: Static and Dynamic inspection of each vehicle, and Input vehicle completion data into System for buyoff/incoming inspection. Works parallel to Spartan repair department technicians to identify, repair, and report defects.

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering, or equivalent directly related work experience. Minimum three years of experience in materials management, preferably in manufacturing oriented operation; auto industry experience preferred. Knowledge of warehousing, material management, scheduling practices and procedures, and Quality Control techniques. Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawing. Senior Engineer, CV Engineering

Designs components or parts for commercial vehicles. Evaluates technical content, improves quality, reduces cost, makes effective decisions and meets schedules while considering all available alternatives. Familiarity with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)/American Standard Test Method (ASTM). Basic operational skills with CAD/CAM design systems; Siemens NX & TcAE or similar. Familiarity with simulation software and common diagnostic equipment.
